zOperator (tm) — Console and automation manager for z/VM and Linux for system z

zOPERATOR provides a scrollable and searchable console for your z/VM and Linux systems. Messages can be colored, highlighted, held and suppressed to ensure important messages are seen and static is filtered out. In addition, automation can be performed based off the message. Automated actions include sending messages or emails, logging to a file or executing a command, EXEC and/or SNMP trap. Console logs can be kept for a specified number of days and viewed through a dedicated terminal, CMS user or zVIEW (browser).

Alerts from zALERT can be routed to zOPERATOR for further action. In addition, when zOPERATOR is viewed through a browser, the alert message can be defined as a hypertext link to a zVIEW view, graph or report showing the resource causing the alert.
