VSI zVPS Compared to IBM Omegamon

VSI zVPS vs IBM Omegamon

The Velocity Software Inc (VSI) Velocity Performance Suite (zVPS) is a complete performance package for z/VM and systems running under z/VM. It collects and displays full performance data for z/VM subsystems (processor, storage, networking, etc) and z/VM guests (Linux, MongoDB, Oracle, OpenShift, z/OS, etc). zVPS is capable of monitoring systems running in their own LPAR, on KVM or on distributed systems. The zVPS suite also includes products that provide alerting and Grafana display capabilities.

The zVPS suite of products was designed to run on z/VM and optimized to be extremely light weight, typically maintaining a minimal footprint of less than 1% of a single processor, regardless of installation size. Memory requirements are also quite low.

As an added bonus, the zVPS suite of products can process z/OS performance data on z/VM at a significantly lower cost.
