The very unique architecture of ESALPS is what allows corrected performance data to be reported for Linux under z/VM. No other solution on the market has the architecture or the ability to provide this function. This following foils are a short discussion of the architecture and what allows this to work.

The set of performance products provided by Velocity Software provide a growth path from the entry level performance monitor "zMON", to ESAMON, to ESALPS.

ESAMON is a standard z/VM performance monitor that fully utilizes the data provided by VM. ESAMON processes the data and provides real time performance analysis as well as a full performance database. This PDB is complete, containing all the VM data as well as the network and Linux data.
